Armed with both our film and digital cameras, we headed up to Appleton, WI the other day for one heck of an engagement session. I am always excited to shoot with my film camera, but I was extra excited since our meet-up and starting point was at a newer coffee shop in downtown Appleton, Tempest Coffee Collective. The combination of the colors, decor and lighting (as well as the fact that this was a coffee shop engagement session) had me pretty pumped already, but once Alexa and Matt arrived I could feel (and see) their connection and knew my day was going to be incredible! The amazing barista at Tempest Coffee Collective whipped up some gorgeous coffee drinks in Alexa and Matt’s Mrs. & Mr. mugs, and we got right to work in a cozy little corner of the cafe with this lifestyle type engagement session. These two were the absolute sweetest!!
Following our shoot at Tempest Coffee Collective, we went outside for a bit to capture some of the surrounding areas of Appleton. The water along the coffee shop was perfect for some of those cuddle poses that came so natural to them! We wrapped them up in a wool blanket (even though it was so warm!) and snapped away. We even took some time under the bridges; I love the grandness the support beams create in the engagement pictures, as well as the neutral colors.
Next up, we headed over to the Bruce B. Purdy’s Nature Preserve to finish our engagement session and capture those Fall colors. Even with the coming rain, we managed to finish with just a few sprinkles! The Nature Preserve was perfect for gorgeous pines, tall grass and beautiful colors. I always love locations like these for engagement pictures! So many options in one area.
Words cannot describe the wonderful time we had with these two in Appleton, and I know their wedding day will be even more amazing than this day was! These two are some of the kindest people we have had the pleasure of meeting!
